THE FUNNIES' CAN 'GREEN' YOUR GIFTS

If you're still reading Sunday newspapers in honest-to- goodness newsprint instead of on the Internet, here's a cost-saving, colorful way to "green" your gift-giving. You've probably noticed all the various kinds of giftwrap you've been buying year after year - some at great expense. There're special giftwraps for Easter, Christmas and Valentine's Day; for weddings and anniversaries; for births, baptisms and birthdays; and for graduations, job promotions, bon voyages, homecomings and house warmings - and much, much more.

Wow! Name it, and you'll find a giftwrap designed to match, and they all cost money - often a whole lot of money. So - each week, starting right now, save all of "the funnies" from your Sunday newspapers. Stack them in a box and store them out of the way, perhaps in a closet. Then, when gift-giving occasions roll around from time to time, use these multi-colored comics pages to wrap your presents - and not only gifts for children. That'll save you a buck or so - and you'll be actively practicing good stewardship of God's creation with a unique way of recycling paper.
